Consent Form

I agree to participate in a perceptual study investigating goal-directed locomotion in virtual reality (VR) space conducted by Dr. Hongjin Sun of the Department of Psychology at McMaster University. This study involves riding a bicycle toward a target in a VR environment.

I have been informed and understand that the visual scene that I will view through a VR helmet will be updated through input from my head orientation and peddling movement of the bicycle. Sometimes, the computer can not update this scene in real time, therefore very quick movement could possibly lead to motion sickness or dizziness. I understand that my participation in this experiment is completely voluntary and I may withdraw from the experiment at any time. I also understand that the data collected during this experiment will not be attributed to me in any publication or presentation, or made available to other people.
